Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspected Robbers in Amukoko

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of engaging in robbery activities in the Amukoko area of the state.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, shared details with newsmen on Sunday in Lagos.

Hundeyin explained that the suspects were captured based on credible intelligence regarding their involvement in criminal activities.

“On March 12, at about 4:00 p.m., the police received information that a group of hoodlums regularly rob passersby of their valuables in the early hours along Alaba-Oro, Amukoko, before retreating to their hideout,” he revealed.

Following this tip-off, officers intensified surveillance efforts, successfully locating the suspects’ hideout in the Olufiditi area of Amukoko.

“Acting on the tip-off, officers launched surveillance operations and successfully tracked their hideout in the Olufiditi area of Amukoko.

“The suspects, aged 19 and 28, were subsequently arrested. Items recovered from them include a cutlass, a small bag containing substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and some hard drugs,” Hundeyin added.

The police spokesperson further noted that investigations are still ongoing, and the suspects will soon be arraigned in court.

This development highlights the Lagos Police Command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
