The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has extended the Student Loan Application Portal for institutions that requested additional time for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyerr, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
Sawyerr explained that the extension applies only to institutions that formally requested extra time from the Fund to allow their eligible students complete their applications through the NELFUND Student Loan Portal.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to ensuring that qualified Nigerian students are able to access the student loan programme.
“NELFUND remains committed to ensuring that eligible students across participating institutions have the opportunity to access the student loan programme,” he stated.
NELFUND also urged eligible students in the affected institutions to make use of the extended period to complete their applications through the official NELFUND portal.
The Fund further reiterated its dedication to transparency and accountability while working to provide sustainable student financing solutions aimed at removing financial barriers to higher education in Nigeria.
