The Niger State Police Command has arrested 11 persons for thuggery and breach of public peace in Chaichainiya, Kaduna Road, Suleja LGA of the state.
In a statement issued in Minna, the Public Relations Officer of the police command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this.
Abiodun reported on June 3, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., that there were reports that the youths and some of the students in secondary school, who were being coordinated by one Umar Idris, were engaged in a fight over love matters within the Chaichainiya axis of Kaduna Road.
There were gunshots discharged from some locations during the confrontation, which wounded two victims on their laps, namely Nura and Imrana, aged 10 and 11, respectively.
The PRO also states that eleven suspects, such as Umar Idris, were nabbed while the police covert operation was ongoing and are under probe.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that a personnel of a sister’s security agency was responsible for the shooting that led to the gunshot injuries of the two victims,” he said.
