Nigerian Air Force Officer Receives Sword Of Honour In UK College

A Nigerian Air Force, NAF officer, Flying Officer David Sangokoya, has been awarded the prestigious International Sword of Honour for 2023 at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell (RAFCC) in the United Kingdom.

This was contained in a post by the Nigerian Air Force on its Facebook wall on Friday titled “NAF Officer Awarded 2023 International Sword of Honour at RAF College Cranwell UK.”

Flying Officer Sangokoya attended the Modularised Initial Officers’ Training Course 22 from March to September 2023 and was awarded the Best International Cadet of the Year.

The prize is given annually to the best international cadet who graduates from the courses of the RAFCC, which graduate up to eight classes in a year.

His Royal Highness Prince William, representing the King Charles III, invested the Sword of Honour on Sangokoya during the Royal Graduation at the same location on September 12, 2024.

Following the success of the officer, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, has expressed appreciation to Flying Officer Sangokoya and commended his commitment and resilience.

“This prestigious recognition is a testament to the officer’s focus and commitment throughout his training,” Abubakar said, adding that the NAF was proud of the feat as it honours both the Air Force and Nigeria.

Air Marshal Abubakar also extended an olive branch of appreciation to Sangokoya’s family for being a great support to his son’s success, giving all the necessary support and encouragement.
