The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that it has disbursed a total of N45.1 billion in student loans since its launch in May 2024 up to March 25, 2025.
NELFUND revealed these figures in its latest Student Loan Dashboard Update, published on its official X account on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
According to the report, 525,936 students have registered on the loan platform, out of which 445,015 have successfully secured financial assistance, translating to an 84 percent application success rate.
The data indicates that while the total funds approved reached N147.9 billion, actual disbursements to date amounted to N45.1 billion.
Breaking down the distribution, N29.86 billion has been allocated towards institutional fees, with an additional N15.23 billion provided for student upkeep allowances.
NELFUND further highlighted its recent disbursement to specific institutions, noting:
“N844,000 million has been successfully released to eight students of Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi, on March 11, 2025.”
The fund emphasized this recent action as:
“This marks another step towards ensuring that students have the financial support they need to pursue their education.”
