The operation, which involved a fight in Bassa village, Shiroro LGA, in Niger State, saw the Nigerian troops neutralize a group of terrorists.
The operation is part of continued efforts aimed at securing the lives of vulnerable communities in the state against threats by the armed terrorists.
Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism and insurgency expert, announced this on Sunday via a post on his X account.
Makama said the attack on the community was foiled by the gallant efforts of the troops, which resultantly led to the death of some militants.
He further added that what happened was that the footage of the operation revealed the aftermath of the conflict in which terrorist bodies were killed during the attack.
Makama said military officials would give details later, now that they were monitoring the region to avoid any possible reprisal and secure human safety.
