The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, on Thursday, 3 March 2023, visited the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State, where he assessed the ongoing training of troops as part of his working tour.
During the visit, the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, revealed that Lt Gen Oluyede addressed the officers and soldiers, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the Nigerian Army through enhanced training programs.
According to him, “the Nigerian Army under his leadership places a high premium on troops’ training, describing it as a panacea for operational effectiveness and optimisation.”
Lt Gen Oluyede stressed that “only well-trained personnel would be able to perform optimally when deployed for operations.” He encouraged the soldiers to stay committed, focused, and to give their utmost effort during their training sessions.
He further noted that troops must “be prepared to apply their newly acquired skills to make a difference in the field.”
Impressed by the quality of instruction, the Army Chief applauded the training team for their dedication and professionalism. He assured them of continued support, promising more resources to ensure the centre continues to produce highly capable soldiers.
In his closing remarks, Oluyede urged the troops to “remain disciplined and professional to justify the significant investment in their training.”
