The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) of Ondo State has elected Olapade Ademola as its new chairman.
Ademola was elected by members of the NLC’s State Executive Council (SEC) at a special meeting held at the state NLC secretariat in Akure.
He succeeded the former chairman, Comrade Victor Oladele Amoko, who had retired.
At the meeting, the 41 SEC members present unanimously agreed that Ademola would serve as the state’s NLC chairman.
In his acceptance address, Comrade Ademola promised to try to improve benefit packages for Ondo State workers.
Ademola stated, “I want to thank the SEC members of the Ondo State Nigeria Labour Congress for granting me the opportunity and power to lead the Congress.
“Workers should be expecting something better in terms of improved salary, pension, promotion and training” .
