NSCDC Commandant Visits Katsina Staff Quarters After Mysterious Fire Outbreak

The Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Aminu Datti Ahmad, has visited the NSCDC College for Peace and Disaster Management (CPCDM) staff quarters in Babbar Ruga to assess the damage caused by a recent fire outbreak.

Commandant Ahmad, supported by a specialized team from Crisis Management, Disaster Management, Medical, and Operations departments, collaborated with Federal and State Fire Services to control the blaze.

Describing the fire as mysterious, Ahmad stated that the NSCDC would work closely with the College Commandant, ACG Babangida Abdullahi Dutsanma, to identify appropriate responses.

The incident began on Monday, March 24, 2025, affecting three rooms and continued until Tuesday, March 25, before finally being extinguished.

ACG Dutsanma praised the prompt actions of the State Fire Service and local community members who assisted during the emergency.

He also conveyed the condolences of NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi to the affected individuals, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to resolving the situation.

To avert similar incidents, a committee has been established to investigate the fire’s cause and propose preventive measures.
