Obasanjo at 89: Foundation to Give 10,000 Nigerians Free Healthcare in Lagos

Former president of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo will celebrate his 89th birthday by paying back to the people by providing a massive health project to at least 10,000 people in the Lagos suburbs.

This massive medical mission will be implemented in Ikorodu and Alimosho, according to a statement of his Media Assistant, Kehinde Akinyemi, on the weekend, between the 27th of February and the 4th of March 2026.

The program is stuffed with essential services, including services related to heart condition examination and blood pressure provision, as well as general consultations and provision of free essential medicines.

The statement is as follows: The Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation (OOF) is delighted to report that in honor of the 89th birthday of his Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Founder of the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, a large-scale Lagos medical mission will be organized to offer life-changing, and free-of-charge, healthcare services to over 10,000 Nigerians.

This medical outreach is a legacy-based humanitarian event to celebrate the 89 th birthday of Chief Obasanjo, which is a manifestation of service to the nation, nation-building, and welfare of the Nigerian people as he has been selfless in his life.

The outreach will commence on Friday, the 27th day of February 2026 Ijede LCDA Council Hall, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos and Saturday, 28 th day of February 2026, Imota Mini Stadium, Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos.

And Monday 2 nd March to Wednesday,4 th / March, 2026 the exercise will be transferred to Alade Stadium, Command Road, Agbado/ Oke-Odo in Alimosho, Lagos whereby beneficiaries will receive: Free Ear Care Services and supply of free hearing aids to qualifying beneficiaries, Free Eye Care Services, detailed eye screening, and prescription glasses and referral and sponsorship of eye surgeries.
