Ogun State Housing Corporation has called for full implementation of anti-land grabbing and foreclosure laws through institutional enforcement to strengthen property administration and protect investments.
The Chief Executive Officer of the corporation, Michael Ojo, made the appeal while appearing before members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti Corruption, chaired by Damilare Bello, in Abeokuta on Friday.
Ojo noted that full enforcement of these laws would enable the corporation to implement housing policies effectively, prevent illegal occupation of government property, improve mortgage recovery processes, and boost investor confidence in the state’s housing sector.
He also commended the Abiodun-led administration for its steadfast support and strategic commitment to expanding access to affordable housing.
Earlier, while reviewing the corporation’s audit report, the House Committee asked management to provide a fixed asset register and supporting documents for other equipment, among other records.
The Committee also directed the management of D. S. Adegbenro Polytechnic, led by Prof. Goke Rauf, to submit details of a 750-seater lecture hall under construction, along with other supporting documents from its expenditure records.
