Human rights activist and former presidential contender, Omoyele Sowore, has once again voiced his conviction that only a mass revolution can truly transform Nigeria.
Sowore argued that such a fundamental shift is the only way to clear the path of ineffective leadership and ensure that the nation’s vast wealth is finally shared among all its citizens.
Speaking to a group of reporters outside the Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday, Sowore remained steadfast, making the case that a revolution is the necessary precursor to a more prosperous and just Nigeria.
He said: “Just be ready for a revolution, I have always said that until there is mass uprising in this country, we can’t take this country away from those who believe that it’s their personal property to exploit and discharge.
“There is nobody that is going to handover power to you on a platter, people who have no jobs but are doing well, people who have no investment are living in luxury and you expect them to just handover power to you?
“Our revolution is driven by the fact that the moment we take off their neck we can redistribute our wealth and make children go to school for free in this country, build hospitals that work for all, construct roads, and catch up with the rest of the world and our African brothers.”
