Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has described Easter as a powerful reminder that challenges are only temporary, and they will eventually give way to lasting relief.
The Governor also encouraged the people of the state to maintain their faith and hope for brighter days, despite the difficulties they may be facing.
Governor Adeleke shared these thoughts in an Easter message released on Sunday in Osogbo, through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Recognizing the spiritual significance of Easter, especially its message of hope and new beginnings, Governor Adeleke congratulated Christians in Osun State and beyond for celebrating this important season, which is at the core of their beliefs.
Highlighting the sacrifice embodied in the Easter story, Governor Adeleke urged Christians to embrace the shared hope of a better future.
He called for a renewed commitment to unity, sustained peace, and building a society that meets the needs of everyone.
The statement reads, “For Christians, Easter is a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the redemption it offers to humanity. In a rare display of love for mankind, Jesus Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, humiliation, and surrendered his life on the cross to wash away the sins of mankind and give hope to eternal life,” Governor Adeleke emphasized in his message.
“While this moment calls for celebration, it is also a time for deep reflection on the spiritual importance of the season and to remind ourselves that light will always triumph over darkness.”
The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to restoring hope through service that directly addresses the people’s needs.
“We will never falter in our efforts to improve the lives of our people, ensuring their right to effective governance, and making resources work for their benefit,” he said.
Encouraging Christians to use the occasion to seek God’s guidance for the continued progress of the state, Adeleke reiterated that his administration remains committed to progress, hope, and sustainable development for all of Osun.
“We are confident that we will not only meet the current needs of our people but also those of the future,” he said.
“Just as this season heralded the arrival of new possibilities, I assure the people of Osun State of my unwavering commitment to fulfilling their hopes with the service they deserve, and addressing past shortcomings with a determined focus on turning things around.”
“No efforts to distract us will succeed, as we will not rest until we achieve a better Osun,” he concluded.
