Police Arrest 13 Over Killing of Naval Officer in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 13 suspects linked to the killing of a naval officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba, in the Kawo area of Kaduna.

The officer, who was a senior course student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, was reportedly attacked and stabbed by a suspected phone snatcher at about 5:20 am on Sunday near the Kawo flyover.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the arrests followed a raid in the area shortly after the tragic incident.

The suspects were found in possession of dangerous weapons.

This development was also mentioned in a post shared on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who revealed that the officer lost his life while trying to change a flat tyre on his vehicle.

Reports indicate that the attacker approached the officer and demanded his mobile phone.

When the officer resisted and questioned the demand, he was stabbed in the chest with a local knife.

The suspect tried to flee but was reportedly overpowered and lynched by bystanders.

Lt. Commodore Buba was rushed to Manaal Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

His body has since been transferred to the 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
