The police in Jigawa State arrested one Babangida Abubakar for allegedly vandalizing electric cable wires in the Kaugama local government.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the image maker of the command, confirmed the arrest in a statement to media operatives.
He said a complaint was received about how unwanted elements had vandalized a high-tension cable wire on Ubba Road in Kaugama LGA.
He said police patrol teams had been deployed across the area, particularly along the Hadejia-Kano/Hadejia-Nguru highway.
His words: “following an actionable and credible intel, on the same date, the brave men attached to Guri Divisional Police Headquarters, suspected and arrested one Babangida Abubakar of Hadejia LGA who reside in Nguru LGA of Yobe state in connection with the incident.”
He said during interrogation at the Divisional Crime Branch, the suspect confessed to the commission of the act and named one Abdullahi Isma’il of Nguru LGA, Yobe State as the receiver, and was also arrested.
According to the investigation, the principal suspect was previously convicted of the same offence.
