The Nasarawa State Police Command’s Karshi Divisional Headquarters has arrested two suspected thieves, Chigozie Jerry, 29, and Chigozie Junior Chigozie, 19, for breaking into the Government Secondary School in Karshi and stealing laptops and other stuff.
According to a statement sent to journalists in Nasarawa on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the arrest was made based on genuine information obtained from public-spirited individuals.
Nansel continued: “Consequently, 1 inverter, 7 Central Processing Unit (CPU), 5 Computer Keyboards, 7 Monitors, 3 Mouse, a change-over switch, and one Solar Battery were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.”
The police spokesman stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nadada Shehu Umar, praised members of the public for providing credible and timely information, and urged them not to give up.
He claimed that the CP has asked the Divisional Police Officer to promptly prosecute the accused in court for prosecution once the inquiry is completed.
The CP also guaranteed the public of complete anonymity whenever information is presented to the police.
