Police officers from the Ketu Division have arrested a 28-year-old man, Olayinka Oluwaseyi, while he was allegedly attempting to rob a driver near the Mile 12 Bridge during the early hours of Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
The suspect, who was reportedly carrying two knives, was apprehended by a patrol team around 1:30 a.m. after a rapid intervention that stopped the robbery in progress.
One other individual involved in the crime managed to flee and is currently being pursued by police.
Investigations have so far revealed that Oluwaseyi was recently released from prison, where he had been serving time for a related crime.
He is currently being held in custody and is expected to be formally charged once investigations are completed.
