Rivers Gov. Fubara Rejects Claims of Ungratefulness

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State declared on Monday that he is not an ungrateful or evil guy, despite charges against him in some places.

Fubara stated that he thanks everyone who has helped him, and that gratitude has pushed him to exercise caution in dealing with the state’s current political dilemma.

He spoke while hosting Ikwerre ethnic nationals at the state’s Government House in Port Harcourt.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara stated that if he were ungrateful, it would have been difficult for him to conceal.

He said, “I’d like to point out that Fubara is not an ungrateful person.” If I were a bad person, I wouldn’t be able to hide a negative character for more than a week, two weeks, one month, one year, two years, eight years, or even longer. For 16 years, if I was a nasty person, everyone would have known.

“But, even your own child, whom you have given birth to, let us begin with the female child. It gets to the point where your female child will enter the restroom and lock the door from behind.

“Even if they push a feeding bottle into my mouth, if I get full, won’t I take it out? So, when people stand outside and say what they say, I want you to ask them, in their own good conscience, what is the worst evil, wickedness, or ungratefulness that this man (Fubara) has ever displayed or done. But I’ll leave that up to God, who will judge everyone.”
