Russia has condemned the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and some of its allies, including Israel.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement denouncing the escalating strikes on Iranian territory.
According to ABC, Russia described the attacks as “a pre-planned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign UN member state,” calling for an immediate halt and a return to diplomacy.
Moscow accused Washington and Tel Aviv of using Iran’s nuclear program as a pretext for pursuing regime change, warning that the attacks could trigger humanitarian, economic, and even radiological catastrophes across the region.
Russia also stated it is ready to help broker peace, placing the responsibility for escalation squarely on the United States and Israel.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev accused the US of using its nuclear talks with Iran as a cover-up ahead of military operations.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to swiftly deliver an objective assessment of what it described as irresponsible actions that risk further destabilising the region.
