Soludo Urges Christians to Embrace Sacrifice, Peace at Easter

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has extended season’s greetings to Christians in Anambra State and Nigeria on the celebration of Easter.

Easter marks the end of the Lenten season and commemorates the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Soludo, in his goodwill message, urged Christians across the country to emulate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the growth of the country.

In a statement by Soludo’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Saturday, the governor commended Christians for their prayers and consistent devotion to the virtues of sacrifice, solemnity, humility, and spiritual revival exhibited during Lent.

Soludo also lauded the inspiring significance of Easter’s lessons in selflessness, modesty, hope, renewal and harmony as personified by the Lord Jesus Christ.

He urged Christians to emulate Christ and take advantage of this season to reinforce the ideals of personal sacrifice for mutual tolerance and peaceful co-existence in our country.

“The governor further emphasised that Easter’s lessons perfectly align with his administration’s vision for Anambra State as a peaceful, livable and progressive society where government policies promote social harmony, economic opportunity, and peace of mind for all.

“Soludo, therefore joins millions across Nigeria and the world in wishing the Christendom a happy and reviving Easter celebration, with prayers that as Christ triumphed over death, there will emerge a new triumphant Nigeria where the noble dreams of our leaders and citizens will be realised for a stronger and better nation,” the statement added.
