Suspected Kidnapper Shot Dead by Vigilantes in Borno

On Monday, a suspected kidnapper was killed by local vigilantes in Borno State’s Chibok LGA, close to Mbalala Market.

Zagazola Makama, an expert on counter-insurgency and security analyst in the Lake Chad basin, reported the attack, which occurred at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday.

The father of the suspect, Isa, tipped local vigilantes on the whereabouts of his son at the market, according to intelligence sources quoted in the report.

On tip, the 25-year-old suspect was accosted by the vigilantes and allegedly brandished a cutlass as he attempted to attack them.

“In an attempt to resist arrest and escape, the suspect brandished a cutlass, prompting the vigilantes to respond swiftly. He was shot dead while trying to flee the scene,” he stated.
