Taraba Police Arrest Suspect with AK-47 Rifle and Ammunition

Taraba State Police Command has arrested a suspect with an AK-47 rifle and 25 rounds of live ammunition.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi, made this known in a statement released to newsmen in the state on Saturday. According to him, the arrest was made by SCID officers led by ASP Yakubu Adamu Bubble.

“Acting on credible intelligence, the team, in collaboration with hunters and vigilante groups, arrested the suspect, one Yusufa Isah, in Funawo Village in Tella town, Gassol Local Government Area,” he said.

He said during the operation, police recovered in the possession of the suspect an AK-47 rifle with breech number A1808M, 25 rounds of live ammunition, and some charms.

Taraba State Commissioner of Police Chukwudi C. Ariekpere praised the officers involved and highlighted the Command’s determination to combating crime and securing people’s safety.

He also ordered an intensive investigation to fish out the other members of the suspect syndicate.
