President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three federal roads in Niger State, along with the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road to link up with the East–West Road in Rivers State.
The approval was granted during a meeting between the president and the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
The three road projects in Niger State will be rebuilt using reinforced concrete pavement to guarantee durability and long-term value.
They are Mokwa–Bida Road (120km), Mokwa–Makeri Road (63km), and Bida–Labata Road (123.5km).
The Bodo–Bonny Road extension, which will connect to the East–West Road, will be constructed as a dual carriageway.
It will also be built with concrete pavement and fitted with solar-powered street lighting.
