Tinubu Still Fully in Charge, Will Return After Easter – Presidency

The Presidency has clarified that President Bola Tinubu is still fully in charge of Nigeria’s governance, even though he has been abroad for nearly two weeks.

Despite his time away, the President continues to manage state affairs from Europe and will return after the Easter holidays.

In a statement released on Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, emphasized that Tinubu, who recently traveled from Paris to London, remains actively engaged in leading the country. He is in regular communication with key government officials to stay on top of national matters.

Onanuga also mentioned that the President has given “directives to security chiefs to address emerging threats in some parts of the country.”

The statement, titled ‘Statement On President Tinubu’s Return To Nigeria,’ reassured Nigerians that the President’s absence is temporary, aligning with the previously communicated two-week timeframe.

Tinubu is expected back in Abuja after the Easter holidays.

“The President’s commitment to his duties remains unwavering, and his administration continues to function smoothly under his leadership,” Onanuga said. He also urged the public to remain calm and assured citizens that governance continues uninterrupted.

While in Europe, the President has stayed in close contact with key officials, overseeing important national issues and ensuring security measures are addressed in response to emerging threats.

“We appreciate the public’s concern and assure all Nigerians that governance proceeds without interruption,” the statement concluded.
