Donald Trump has suggested the next possible country the United States could target after Iran.
Speaking at the White House on Thursday during a visit by players and officials of Inter Miami CF, the 2025 champions of Major League Soccer, Trump said his administration might shift attention to Cuba following ongoing U.S. military operations in Iran.
The U.S. president, while speaking to a largely Miami-based audience that included several individuals of Cuban heritage, indicated that Washington could focus on Cuba once the situation in Iran is resolved.
“What’s happening with Cuba is amazing. We think that we want to fix, finish this one first, but that will be just a question of time before you and a lot of unbelievable people are going to be going back to Cuba, hopefully not to stay,” he said.
The remarks come just over a week after rising military tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
Trump also used the event to provide an update on the ongoing conflict, stating that American and Israeli forces were continuing their military operations.
