The United States of America has threatened all countries across the globe that it will impose “big tariffs” on April 2.
The White House indicates that President Donald Trump will announce retaliatory tariffs to all countries on April 2.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Thursday during a news conference that the US President has been “very clear about his intention for April 2.”
Trump will have “big announcements” on reciprocal trade and will have no problem being open about “the unfair trade practices, the ways in which America has been ripped off by every country around the world, quite frankly.”
“There will be big tariffs that will be going into effect,” the spokesperson stated.
President Trump has threatened repeatedly to impose reciprocal duties on America’s allies and competitors beginning April 2.
The United States said earlier that on April 2 it would present each country with a number that it has calculated as their tariffs.
It stated that the tariff barrier was imposed primarily to offset unfair trade practices by nations.
