United States President Donald Trump has once again firmly stated that America will never permit Iran to possess nuclear weaponry.
Trump doubled down on this position on Friday during a White House ceremony held to present a trophy to the Commander-in-Chief of the US Navy football team.
During the event, he pointed out that the strategic landscape between Iran and the United States has shifted dramatically, suggesting that while they possessed a naval force just two weeks ago, that is no longer the case.
“We’re not gonna let them have nuclear weapons. It’s all at the bottom of the city. 58 ships knocked down in two days, and we have the greatest Navy anywhere in the world. It’s not even close.
“So we are doing really well, we’re not going to let them have nuclear weapons, because if they had them, they’d use them, and we’re not going to let that happen.
“Thus should have been done a long time ago by other presidents. So it’s an honour to be here. This is fun, and these are great athletes standing behind me, great coaches and general managers,” he remarked.
