Vigilante Rescues Abducted Woman in Lokoja

A woman identified as Mary Adams Gure has been rescued after being violently abducted by armed men at a prayer mountain in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.

The kidnapping took place at about 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, during a night worship session held at a remote mountain location in the Egbola area, situated along Agbaja Road.

According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attackers stormed the prayer ground, shooting indiscriminately to create panic before forcing several worshippers into the nearby forest.

In the confusion, Gure managed to escape and later reached safety, thanks to the prompt response of local vigilantes who arrived at the scene after being alerted.

Security forces were immediately deployed in response to the incident, and a search-and-rescue effort is still ongoing to locate and free the remaining kidnapped victims.

Officials from the Kogi State Police Command and other security bodies have yet to release any formal statements regarding the situation.
