At least six people were killed in clashes with police after hundreds of protesters stormed the US Consulate in Karachi on Sunday, officials reported.
The unrest followed United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sparking outrage among demonstrators.
Security forces fired on protesters after windows at the consulate were smashed and the guardhouse set on fire, as authorities moved to regain control of the area.
Hospital officials in Karachi confirmed that at least eight people were injured during the clashes.
Tensions remain high, with security personnel deployed across the vicinity to maintain order.
