Yahaya Bello Urges Peace, Unity in Easter Message to Nigerians

The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has extended his Easter greetings to Christians both in Kogi State and across Nigeria, urging them to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, peace, and unity during the celebration.

In his message, former Governor Bello congratulated the Christian community for completing the 40-day Lenten period, emphasizing that their prayers would contribute to the realization of the important goals of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The message, signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of Bello’s media office, was released on Saturday. In it, Bello emphasized that the lessons of Easter go beyond religious and cultural boundaries, serving as the foundation for peaceful coexistence among all people.

He particularly praised the harmonious relationship between Christians and people of other faiths in Kogi State, encouraging residents to continue supporting his successor, Governor Usman Ododo, in ensuring democracy’s benefits reach all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

Former Governor Bello, known for his efforts in promoting interfaith harmony during his tenure, including the construction of a chapel at the Kogi Government House, urged Christians to continue upholding the values of peace, compassion, and unity that are central to the Easter message.

Bello prayed for God’s protection and guidance for the nation and its leaders, urging Nigerians to work together for a prosperous future.

He also called for support of President Tinubu’s administration, praising its economic turnaround efforts and the goals outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I wish all Christians a joyous Easter celebration and pray for lasting peace and progress in our dear nation,” he concluded.
