Tension broke out on Saturday in Obunagha community in Bayelsa State as youths clashed with officers suspected to be from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
Residents said the clash was a result of allegations by some youths that the officers had been conducting a series of illegal raids in the community.
A video clip obtained by our reporter showed a group of angry youths trying to attack the suspected NDLEA officers.
In the chaos, the officers’ vehicle was overturned, compelling them to quickly leave the area.
Some of the youths could be heard shouting and insulting the officers.
In the video clip, one of the youths was heard accusing an officer of shooting him even though he is not a thief.
“Oga you shoot me direct gunshot I no be thief but you shoot me direct gunshot”
