Zamfara State Police Command has welcomed a new Commissioner, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, following the promotion and reassignment of the outgoing Commissioner, Muhammad Dalinjan Shehu.
Former Commissioner Muhammad Dalinjan was promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and is now posted to the Counter-Terrorism Unit at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement, the command’s spokesman, DSP Yazid Abubakar, highlighted the extensive experience the new Commissioner Maikaba brings from his service in various capacities within the police force nationwide.
Maikaba’s professional journey includes serving as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in multiple states, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in key strategic units, and as Commissioner of Police at the Ports Authority Police Command in Lagos.
Born in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Maikaba holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Bayero University, Kano. He began his career with the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
In his inaugural speech, Commissioner Maikaba committed himself to intelligence-driven policing, crime prevention, and fostering robust community partnerships to enhance security throughout Zamfara State.
