Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has urged his players not to lose hope in the La Liga title race.
The defending champions delayed Barcelona’s celebration with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Mallorca on Wednesday night.
Jacobo Ramon scored a stunning volley in the 94th minute to secure the win, after Kylian Mbappe had equalized earlier.
Madrid now trail Barcelona by four points, with the Catalan side set to face Espanyol on Thursday night.
A win for Barcelona could extend their lead to seven points and seal the league title.
However, Ancelotti made it clear his team must keep fighting for trophies, no matter how slim their chances appear.
He said, “La Liga is over? Anything can happen in football. We didn’t want to give them La Liga today. They have to play tomorrow.
“If they win we will congratulate them, if they don’t we will see what happens. If we had played like this in all the games we would have had a better season.”
