Arsenal Face Tottenham in Crucial Premier League Derby

The onus is now on Arsenal to beat Tottenham Hotspur when the two teams meet in the Premier League derby on Sunday evening.

This comes after Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday night at the Etihad Stadium.

Remember that Pep Guardiola’s team won against Newcastle at home, thanks to Nico O’Reilly’s brace.

The win means that the Cityzens are now two points behind Arsenal on the Premier League log after 27 matches played.

Arsenal will increase the gap to five points with one game in hand over City if they win against Spurs on Sunday.

However, Tottenham will be hoping to end the season without back-to-back losses to the Gunners after they lost the reverse fixture 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium last November.

Remember that a hat-trick from Eberechi Eze and a goal from Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal the victory against Tottenham.

Prior to today’s encounter, both Arsenal and Tottenham failed to win their last Premier League matches against Wolves and Newcastle United, respectively.

Arsenal drew 2-2 with Wolves, while Tottenham lost 2-1 to Newcastle at home.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is expected to have his full squad available for selection against Tottenham, with no new injury concerns in his camp at the moment.

The likes of Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard are expected to be part of the squad to face the hosts.

For his part, Tottenham manager Igor Tudor will be without Wilson Odobert, who is out for the season after rupturing his ACL against Newcastle, joining the likes of Pedro Porro (thigh), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (ACL), and Mohammed Kudus (thigh) on the sidelines.
