Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised his team’s defensive capabilities and acknowledged Chelsea’s attacking strength following his side’s 1-0 victory over the Blues in the Premier League on Sunday.
Mikel Merino’s first-half goal secured all three points for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, putting them 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool after 29 matches.
In his post-match interview, Arteta was full of praise for his team’s defensive performance. He stated, “In defending, we are one of the best teams in the world today. We were unbelievable,” as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Arteta also emphasized the quality of Chelsea’s attack, adding, “We conceded almost nothing apart from a strange save from David Raya. Big credit, because in my opinion, Chelsea are the best attacking team in the league.”
Arsenal’s next match is scheduled for 1 April against Fulham.
