Barcelona’s La Liga match against Osasuna on Saturday night was suspended following the death of their first-team doctor, Carles Miñarro García.
The match was to be played at 9 p.m. West African Time (WAT), but it was abandoned some 20 minutes to kick-off.
“FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro García this evening,” the club said in a statement.
“For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date.
“The FC Barcelona board of directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Barcelona is leading the league table with 26 games played.
Hansi Flick’s team has 57 points, one more than their local rivals Real Madrid.
