Broos’ Squad Revealed: Nigeria, Zimbabwe World Cup Qualifiers

Hugo Broos, the head coach of South Africa, will announce his final team on Thursday for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

On May 15, Broos announced a 36-man preliminary roster for the contests.

It is anticipated that familiar faces from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, such as Ronwen Williams, Themba Zwane, Percy Tau, Teboho Mokoena, and Khuliso Mudau, will be included on the roster.

On Friday, June 7, South Africa will head to Uyo to take on the Super Eagles in a matchday three match.

On Tuesday, June 11, the former African champions will play Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

With three points, Broos’ team is in second place in Group C, while the Super Eagles are in third place with two points.

The last time these sides faced off was in the AFCON semifinals, where the Eagles prevailed 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 conclusion to regulation time.
