Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique believes the victor of his team’s second-leg UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match-up against Liverpool will go on to contest the Champions League final towards the end of the year.
Enrique was speaking in a pre-match press conference prior to PSG’s Champions League comeback fixture against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The Spaniard, who led Barcelona to Champions League glory in 2015, said: “Over the course of two games, we will see two of the best teams in Europe. Two contenders for the final, and whoever goes through tomorrow will go on to reach the final.”
PSG resume the contest after conceding a first-leg 1-0 last week in Paris.
The winner of Tuesday’s Anfield game will subsequently face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the April quarterfinals.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, already has the Champions League trophy after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in last year’s final.
