Carlos Corberán, West Brom boss, offers positive words for Josh Maja after the forward’s outstanding performance against Queen Park Rangers.
Maja scored a hat-trick as the Baggies won 3-1 at MATRADE Loftus Road on Saturday to kick off their new season.
The Nigerian became the first Albion player to score three goals in a league season opener since Alf Bentley in 1913-14.
Corberan appreciated the striker’s performance.
“Josh Maja has had a very positive impact on the game because it is difficult to score three goals, and all three were of high quality,” he told the club’s official website.
“But with Josh Maja, after one season without playing many games, we have to manage his minutes well and this is one of the positions we need to strengthen because we need to protect every single player.”
