Al Nassr have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has fallen ill with a viral infection.
The Saudi Pro League club made this known in a statement on Sunday.
This means Ronaldo would not make the trip to Iraq to play Al-Shorta in the AFC Champions League.
He will be a big miss for Al-Nassr, who have struggled to get going this season and have already let slip four points in the opening three Saudi Pro League games.
It read: “Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo did not feel well today and was diagnosed with a viral virus.
“The team’s doctor indicated that he needed to rest and stay at his location.
“As such, he will not be traveling with the team to Iraq today. We wish our captain a speedy recovery.
