Manchester United winger Antony has credited former manager Erik ten Hag for playing a significant role in shaping him into the player he is today.
Antony previously worked under Ten Hag at both Ajax and Manchester United. The Brazilian forward made a high-profile move from Ajax to Man United in 2022 for a reported fee of £85 million.
Reflecting on his time with the Dutch coach, Antony expressed deep appreciation for Ten Hag’s influence on his development.
“Erik ten Hag is a coach I’m very grateful to,” Antony told ESPN.
“He helped me a lot in the Netherlands, and in England too, even though the opportunities didn’t come the way I wanted to.
“But that is the coach’s choice, I don’t hold any grudges or anything.”
“On the contrary, I’m very grateful for everything he’s done with me, for all the conversations too.
“He’s a coach who will certainly be in this story because he helped me a lot.”
Antony is currently on a six-month loan spell at Spanish LaLiga side Real Betis.
