Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has said his team is missing the goals of Erling Haaland following their 1–1 draw against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Haaland failed to find the net as Manchester City dropped two points in the match played at London Stadium.
The Norway international has now scored only one goal in his last eight matches for the reigning champions.
The result leaves Manchester City nine points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, although Guardiola’s side still has one game in hand.
Speaking during his post-match interview, Guardiola admitted that City have felt the absence of Haaland’s goals in recent weeks.
“The lack of goals, we miss him (Erling Haaland) of course,” Guardiola said.
“I always believe it’s the connections and many things that create good interactions. But Erling, we need his goals.
“We need to create more, like in the (first half), he has three chances there. We have to create that threat that we sometimes didn’t have. He will be back,” he added.
Despite the recent dip in form, Haaland remains the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 22 goals.
