Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has identified the key signing his side needs to make during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Following a season that hasn’t met their usual high standards, City are looking to strengthen the squad under Guardiola’s guidance ahead of the next campaign.
The Premier League giants were knocked out of the Champions League this season by Real Madrid, ending their hopes of back-to-back European titles.
Currently, the team is battling to secure a top-four spot in the Premier League. They trail behind Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United in the standings.
Over the weekend, City earned a commanding 5-2 win against Crystal Palace in league action.
After the match, Guardiola made it clear that the club’s priority is bringing in a full-back.
“We will need a new full-back in the summer,” Guardiola was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
“Obviously. Nico O’Reilly is helping, but he is not a left-back.”
