Manchester United forward Chido Obi is not available to play for the team in their Europa League last-16 match against Real Sociedad.
Ruben Amorim’s coach did not include him in the squad for the competition, ESPN reports.
Obi shone from the bench as United lost the FA Cup tie against Fulham on Sunday.
The 17-year-old, who signed for the club in October from Arsenal, has featured in just three professional games for the club.
Amorim’s performance against Fulham also casts doubt on his opportunities to deputise for under-pressure attacking midfielder Rasmus Højlund, who has not scored a goal in seven games since December.
Obi, on the other hand, will not be eligible for selection in Thursday’s Europa League round-of-16 first leg clash with Real Sociedad due to being ineligible for the competition.
United signed January signings Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to their Europa League squad for the knockout rounds, which start this week in Spain.
Chido Obi was overlooked for registration because he was not considered a first-team player then.
