Over the past five days, Iran has come under attacks from Israel and the United States, while Tehran has responded with strikes targeting US allies in the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, Iraq is scheduled to face either Suriname or Bolivia in a play-off match on March 31.
Should Iraq win the encounter, they would take Iran’s spot in the tournament.
However, if Iraq fails to secure victory, the United Arab Emirates would be selected as Iran’s replacement as the next highest-ranked team from Asia.
