Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has expressed his well wishes to Sergi Roberto following the latter’s departure from Barcelona.
The versatile midfielder, who served as Barcelona’s captain last season, will not be renewing his contract with the club.
Taking to Instagram, Messi shared a heartfelt message for his former teammate: “All the best for your new chapter, Sergi Roberto. Wishing you nothing but success!”
A product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Roberto dedicated 14 years to the club.
His career at Camp Nou coincided with Messi’s from 2013 to 2021, forming a formidable partnership during their time together.
