The Croatian midfielder is expected to team up with football icon Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, a club in the US Major League Soccer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Modric is set to join the Argentine star at the MLS side as a free agent.
Modric has already confirmed his intention to leave Los Blancos once this season concludes.
Last month, there were reports that Messi had personally asked Inter Miami to sign Modric, boosting the chances of the two stars playing together in the MLS.
These two legends have faced off numerous times in LaLiga, with Messi representing Barcelona and Modric playing for Real Madrid.
For Messi, however, the conversations about his future in the MLS haven’t been entirely straightforward.
Messi signed with the Herons in the summer of 2023, and his contract with the club is set to expire this summer.
Currently, Inter Miami sits sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with 22 points, seven points behind the league leaders, Philadelphia.
