Man United to Pay Up to £15.9m After Sacking Amorim

Manchester United will pay Ruben Amorim and his coaching team around £15.9 million in compensation.

Amorim and his five assistants were dismissed on January 5 after spending just 14 months at the Premier League side.

Following his departure, Amorim received an initial £10 million payout after holding talks with director of football Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada.

However, a recent filing with the New York Stock Exchange revealed that terminating Amorim and his backroom staff could cost the club up to £15.9 million.

The final amount Amorim will receive depends on whether the 41-year-old secures another job within a specified period.

Overall, the combined cost of hiring and subsequently dismissing Amorim could now rise to as much as £27 million.
