Nigeria’s Flamingos moved to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after thrashing South Africa 3-1 on Saturday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
Shakirat Moshood scored the opener for Nigeria after 20 minutes.
Forward Harmony Chidi scored the second for the Flamingos from the penalty mark five minutes from halftime.
The hosts’ captain, Katleho Malebana, struck from the spot two minutes after the interval.
Chidi restored Nigeria’s two-goal lead in the 68th minute, her second of the match.
The return match is next Saturday at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The winner will advance to the final qualifying round on aggregate scores.
