Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has described Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as the second striker he admires the most at the club, placing him behind the legendary Metin Oktay.
Özbek highlighted the influence Osimhen had on Galatasaray’s triumph in the Turkish Super Lig last season following his move from Napoli.
“After Metin Oktay, Victor Osimhen is the striker that excites me most among all strikers that have played in Galatasaray,” Özbek stated, as reported by Habersarikirmizi.
“We admire Osimhen even when we watch him in training. He performs as if he is in a match even there. We are afraid he might get injured.”
Osimhen has continued to deliver impressive performances for Galatasaray this season. He was instrumental in helping the club secure the Turkish Super Lig title last season.
The 27-year-old also played a key role in Galatasaray’s qualification for the Round of 16 in this season’s UEFA Champions League, where they are set to face Liverpool.
